Chapter Administrator

National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association

Washington, DC

The National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association (NCAC-APA) is seeking statements of qualifications from individuals, organizations, and firms to serve as the Chapter Administrator for the organization's 750 members and Board. The Chapter Administrator is responsible for administrative, membership, and service functions, and provides a continuous, professional, and comprehensive approach to delivering membership services in accordance with national APA policies, NCAC-APA's mission, bylaws, and Strategic Plan.

NCAC-APA is currently an all-volunteer organization. Given the size, diversity, and experience of our membership and the complexity of our region, NCAC-APA has reached a point where the daily administrative responsibilities of operating a large nonprofit membership organization are exhausting Board members' limited volunteer capacity and are inhibiting the Chapter's ability to optimally fulfill our mission and responsibilities to our members.

The Chapter Administrator will assume administrative responsibility of the Chapter from current Chapter Officers, help coordinate sponsorships, and help coordinate Chapter operations and reporting with National APA. The Chapter has never hired an Administrator before; this is an exciting opportunity for an individual or organization to help define this role moving forward.

NCAC-APA anticipates that this contract will be awarded to an individual, firm or organization who will work on a contractual basis with the organization as an independent contractor. We foresee the individual, firm, or organization as maintaining or pursuing other clients and projects in addition tothe services they provide our chapter.

Statements of Qualifications are due July 26, 2024. Please submit all materials requested in this RFQ, and any questions, to:

Scott Rowe, Chapter President
