Today, planners from around the country are attending the digital Policy and Advocacy Conference to gain insights from top experts in the field and get ideas for action such as how COVID-19 is changing infrastructure and the impact of state-level legislation. Many attendees like Josh Clements, AICP, are communicating directly with legislative offices this afternoon for a planning-led recovery and reinvention. Today's Planners' Day on Capitol Hill attendees are connecting with legislators during a week when planning issues are in the spotlight on Capitol Hill.
Feeling some FOMO? Don't worry — we added additional space after seeing record attendee numbers, so you can still get in on the action! If you missed a few sessions, you can still join live for what you can and catch the recordings later. A full year of access is included in your registration. Join fashionably late.

Background reading: Policies moving planning forward
Whether or not you're joining us for the Policy and Advocacy Conference, it's critical for planners to understand what policies are needed to move planning and communities forward. Immerse yourself on the intersection of policy and planning — developed by your fellow APA members — with APA Policy Guides on hazard mitigation, planning for equity, surface transportation, and housing. Two other policy guides are being discussed live during the conference tomorrow with attendees asking questions and sharing ideas to help shape policy: Equitable Economic Development and Legacy Cities. |
