Under the direction of the Manager, this position involves mid-level professional planning work.

Responsibilities include researching and analyzing technical planning issues for both short and long-term projects, assessing public and private development projects, and preparing various plans. Assists with development, and maintenance of the Anchorage Metropolitan Ara Solution (AMATS) regional multi-modal travel forecasting model (utilizing Trans CAD Transportation Modeling Software) as well as production of travel demand forecast for use in agency projects, long-range transportation planning, air quality conformity analysis, and updates to the AMATS land-use allocation model; assists with the development of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan; assists with the development of the Congestion Management Program; and assist with other Plans as required. Coordinates efforts between other local, state, and federal agencies, and the public. This position will provide ongoing support to AMATS committees.

This position requires attendance at night meetings depending on AMATS needs. Performs other duties assigned.
