Under direction from the County Planning Director, the Long-Range Planning Manager, plans, directs, and supervises the activities and operations of the Long-Range Division of the Community Planning & Department.

Specifically, the Long-Range Planning Manager develops the goals and implements the annual work plan for long range planning division to advance the goals and priorities of the County, creates project scopes of work, budgets, and timelines and oversees the preparation of a variety of long range plans including but not limited to updates and amendments to the comprehensive plan, community and area plans, and corridor studies; tracking various indicators for growth and managing the collection and analysis of data through surveys, GIS mapping, and other methods that aid long range planning and decision makers.

The Long-Range Planning Manager also manages outsourced projects to include request for qualification, request for proposal, consultant scope and deliverables. Additional duties include assistance with text amendments to ordinances in support of the comprehensive planning program. This position is responsible for supervising professional planners and monitoring workflow and progress.
