The Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) and the Regional Planning Program seeks an experienced Regional Planner to assist with land use and transportation planning in the Mid-Region. MRCOG's Regional Planning Program (RPP) provides planning assistance, technical services, and capacity building to the entire MRCOG region with a focus on rural communities. The RPP acts as an extension of local government staff with an emphasis on regional collaboration and long-range planning.

Duties include:

• Lead and participate in long-range land use and transportation planning initiatives.
• Perform regular data collection and analysis to support planning efforts.
• Collaborate with local governments on project planning, development, and financing.
• Provide technical assistance, including data collection, mapping, and analysis.
• Manage grant administration tasks and ensure compliance with funding requirements.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in planning or a related field is preferred with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS and Adobe Programs is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Employment pending a successful background check, a valid New Mexico driver's license and no more than one (1) moving violation in the past year.
