The Town of Vienna seeks an energetic, community-focused planner to join the Department of Planning and Zoning team. This position involves a range of professional planning activities, including reviewing development proposals and permit applications for compliance with Town codes and policies, preparing staff reports, conducting research, and delivering presentations. The planner will work closely with residents, developers, and colleagues across Town departments, contributing to projects that shape the community's future, including comprehensive and area planning. As a small jurisdiction, Vienna offers planners a unique opportunity to experience multiple aspects of the development and planning process, gaining exposure to a wide variety of planning functions

The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in working collaboratively with the public and other staff, and strong technical planning skills.
