The Transit Planner supports the overall transportation planning needs of FXBGO! and performs transit planning work and activities for the department. The Planner provides support for the department's Transit Strategic Plan, transit and transit related studies, transportation operations planning and related outreach activities and initiatives. Responsible for the planning, management and organization of planning projects and programs, manages, monitors, and maintains bus stop locations and shelters and benches and preparing and submitting required data, metrics and regulatory reports.
Minimum requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in transportation planning, urban planning or related field; experience in transit or local government preferred. Knowledge of transit operations, management practices, government, applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations affecting public transportation; principles, practices and techniques of transit or urban planning. Experience with ArcMap, GIS software, and Intelligent Transit Software (ITS) preferred.
