The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) is seeking an Environmental Program Coordinator

Enforcement Program Coordinator

The Environmental Program Coordinator works under the Enforcement Program Manager to support the Division's compliance efforts in accordance with City, State, and Federal regulatory requirements. The work of this position is required by the MS4, UIC, and WWTP permits issued to the City. The Compliance Division administers and enforces multiple sections of City Code and sets of Administrative Rules regarding the City's management of its sanitary and stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems. This administrative position regularly engages internal stakeholders and City staff to coordinate enforcement, provide guidance and project support to individual programs, and ensure consistent and equitable application of enforcement across multiple environmental programs.

What you'll get to do:

  • Research, interpret, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure bureau compliance with environmental protection laws and regulations
  • Ensure accurate application of regulations for the Division's enforcement actions by implementing effective courses of action
  • Support equitable program practices for underserved communities
  • Provide administrative support for the public appeals process
  • Program development and project management
  • Develop and conduct enforcement staff trainings
