The Mansfield Downtown Partnership (Partnership) (www.mansfieldmdp.org) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as its next Executive Director during a period of exciting growth and potential reorganization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the management of a similar non-profit organization, community and economic development, marketing, project management, and/or grant and program administration. Additionally, candidates must be adept at establishing collaborative working relationships with Town and University of Connecticut (UConn) officials, developers, entrepreneurs and business owners, benefactors, staff members, community-based organizations, and governmental agencies. The selected applicant will play an active role in helping the Board of Directors, Town, and UConn officials articulate a vision for the organization's future, and will be skilled at effectively communicating and implementing this vision.
Sample duties of the Executive Director are: Town-wide economic planning and development; overseeing staff that manage all administrative operations in Downtown Storrs; development and execution of community development programs and projects; budgeting and grant administration; representing the artnership and Mansfield on a regional and national basis; supporting and facilitating the work of the Board of Directors. The Director is also responsible for coaching, supervising and evaluating personnel. The Executive Director currently reports to the thirteen member Board of Directors.
The Partnership has had only one executive director since its inception in 2002. The Partnership's most recent Executive Director recently resigned to pursue a new opportunity after twenty-two years of outstanding service to the organization and our community. Our organization seeks an innovative, collaborative, and highly-capable individual to build on a solid legacy of accomplishment by facilitating the achievement of new and ambitious goals.
About the Partnership
The Partnership seeks to foster the continued development, management, and promotion of Downtown Storrs — a vibrant and economically successful community in the heart of Mansfield, CT. The Partnership assists in the future economic development of other areas within the Town of Mansfield deemed strategic by the Town of Mansfield, the University of Connecticut, and the Partnership Board of Directors.
To this end, the organization and its principal proponents — the Town and UConn — have begun the process of evaluating the merits of expanding and broadening the scope of the Partnership to include housing development and other topics of central importance to economic growth in the Town of Mansfield.
The Partnership — comprised of a committed alliance of volunteer community and business members, Town of Mansfield and UConn officials and administrators, and Partnership staff — provide collaborative and balanced ongoing leadership in the continuing economic, social, and cultural development within the Town of Mansfield. Through shared, cooperative effort, the Partnership provides for a rich diversity of offerings that make the Town of Mansfield a regional destination and a vibrant, thriving community.

Mansfield, with a population of approximately 26,000, is located in beautiful northeastern Connecticut. Home to the University of Connecticut and located less than an hour from Hartford and Providence, Mansfield offers a unique blend of urban (Downtown Storrs — www.mansfieldmdp.org), suburban, and rural living in a vibrant university setting. Mansfield has a variety of cultural and educational offerings, numerous food and entertainment venues, as well as an abundance of natural resources ideal for activities such as hiking, cycling, and kayaking.

Work Schedule & Location
This position is 40 hours per week, Mondays-Fridays. This position does perform evening and weekend work to meet operational needs related to supporting the Board of Directors and downtown events. The office location for this position is the Nash Zimmer Transportation Center, 23 Royce Circle, Mansfield, CT.
Compensation
The salary range is $97,836 - $136,842/yr. The hiring rate of pay will depend upon the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. The Partnership provides an extremely competitive benefits package: a defined contribution pension plan; medical, vision, dental insurance; life insurance; short-term and long-term disability insurance; and paid sick leave, vacation and holidays.
Training and Experience
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in planning, business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, marketing, or other related field; master's degree preferred. Candidates should also have at least five years of progressively responsible experience, including ideally at least three years in a senior management/supervisory capacity. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience with community and economic development and non-profit management. Consideration may be given to equivalent experience and training.
