The Deputy Chief of Service Planning is a critical leadership position responsible for leading the design of Valley Metro’s on-street transit system, service planning and scheduling, and geographic information systems (GIS) functions. A senior leader within the Valley Metro team, the Deputy Chief of Service Planning is responsible for representing Valley Metro with internal and external stakeholders and serves as a Valley Metro liaison to member communities, the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), and the Federal Transit Administration. Duties include supervising projects and activities to ensure adherence to schedule, budget, quality, and timely delivery; supporting preparation of the annual Division budget and to assure adequate resources are available; managing and supervising staff and resources; and ensuring strong communication and coordination among internal and external parties.
