We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic Economic Development Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in this journey. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Coordinate assigned economic development projects, ensuring alignment with the city's economic goals and available resources.
- Grant Management: Administer the city's business-related grants.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret economic data, including trends, demographics, and market research.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with businesses, community organizations, and residents.
- Marketing and Outreach: Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote the city's economic advantages and attract new businesses and investments.
- Policy Research: Conduct research on economic development best practices, policies, and regulations.
- Business Retention and Expansion: Work with existing businesses to understand their needs and challenges and connect them with resources and programs to support their growth and success.
Job Specifications
Education, Training, and Experience
(Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position. Prior work experience and educational requirements listed are typical ways of obtaining the required qualifications. Other equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.)
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, economic development, public administration, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in economic development, project management, or a related field.
Licensing/Special Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver's license or an acceptable alternative method of transportation which allows the incumbent to perform the duties of the position.
Knowledge of:
- Economic development principles and practices.
- Grant writing and management.
- Public engagement techniques.
- Data analysis and reporting.
Skills and Abilities to:
- Effectively coordinate and manage projects.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analyze and interpret data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Work independently and as part of a team.

Hybrid Work Options: This job class is eligible for limited remote or hybrid work options in accordance with the city's telework policy.
Compensation: The salary range for this overtime-eligible union-represented position is $6,163 - 7,869 per month. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate's related experience and education as documented on the employment application in accordance with the city's pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $7,496 per month.
