The Senior Transportation Planner will serve as the lead staff member in charge of developing and implementing forward-thinking mobility projects and policies and is responsible for enhancing bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, advancing Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies, and fostering safer streets for all users. Core responsibilities include managing consultant contracts to carry out the work program, designing protected bike lanes, championing pedestrian safety enhancements, and advancing innovative and emerging mobility systems, among other high-profile projects that align with the City's goals for sustainability, access, and equity. In addition, this position will lead collaborative efforts with regional partners, community stakeholders, and advocacy groups to achieve innovative, inclusive, and impactful transportation solutions. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Job Summary:
Serves as lead staff member and performs complex technical and professional functions related to transportation planning projects and programs, including: serving as project manager for various transportation programs and projects; management of traffic impact projects, related analysis, forecasting, initiatives and land use changes; providing advice; collecting, analyzing and presenting transportation related data to internal staff, various groups and organizations; interacting and preparing reports for presentation to various groups, commissions, etc.
