The Tompkins County Department of Planning and Sustainability, located in Ithaca, NY, is seeking a Planning Administrator - Housing and Community Development Director to lead planning efforts and develop creative programs to expand and improve housing and community development opportunities. Starting salary is $95,534, rising to $100,568 after 9 months.

Centrally located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York, Ithaca is home to Cornell University and Ithaca College in an area surrounded by Cayuga Lake, dramatic gorges and waterfalls. The Department of Planning and Sustainability's staff of fourteen professionals work collaboratively across disciplines on planning as well as policy and program development in various topic areas including housing, economic development, natural resources, transportation and sustainability. Affordable, safe, energy-efficient, and appealing housing is a priority in Tompkins County's plans, strategies, and implementation efforts, including our long-standing local Community Housing Development Fund which supports affordable housing development.
