Reporting to the Deputy Director of Public Works, the Senior Transportation Planner will play a key role in creating a safer, more sustainable transportation system. This motivated professional will lead or support projects such as development review, transportation demand management strategies, complete streets design studies, and neighborhood traffic calming efforts. The role includes coordinating with partner agencies on regional projects like I-880/SR-92 interchanges and the East Bay Greenway.

The ideal candidate has a strong educational and technical background in transportation planning and management. They excel in project management and thrive in collaborative environments, successfully managing projects from inception to completion. Significant experience working with community members, stakeholders, and regional partner agencies to build consensus around complex projects is essential.
