The City of North Port is seeking a Planner III.

Located along Florida's beautiful Gulf coast, the City of North Port prides itself on the use of innovative planning practices with a focus on achieving a thriving and lasting built environment for our residents.

The Planner III position is an integral part of the Planning and Zoning Division. General responsibilities for this position include development review of site development plans, plats, and other development plans; composition of professional staff reports for various applications; and supervision of junior planning staff. The Planner III also receives and responds to inquiries regarding planning and zoning issues; interprets and explains the Comprehensive Plan, Unified Land Development Code, and other applicable plans and codes to the general public; and participates in meetings with the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board, Zoning Hearing Officer, and City Commission.
