The Planner I acts under the supervision of the Director of Planning & Zoning to perform entry level duties in the area of regional and community planning including the preparation of documents; conducting research related to planning studies and is comprised of technical and administrative functions designed to support the planning process.

Position Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree preferred in one of the following fields of study: land use planning, architecture, engineering, political science, geography or another relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• One year of land use planning experience or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Certified floodplain manager within 1-2 years for employment – extenuating circumstances may be considered.
• ACIP preferred but not required.
