POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Community Development ("Director") plays a vital role in achieving the Township's community development objectives through performing complex professional, technical, and administrative duties related to engineering, planning, code enforcement, and zoning. This position includes overseeing the activities of the Department of Community Development ("Department") and directly supervising its staff. The Director operates under the general direction of the Assistant Township Manager, exercising significant self-direction and judgment with periodic reviews upon the completion of tasks.

The Director is required to remain informed about planning trends through ongoing education, which may necessitate periodic travel. This includes active participation in professional organizations such as the American Planning Association and the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS).

Work is performed during regularly scheduled hours and will involve additional hours, as needed. Attendance at evening meetings is required. The position is exempt under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

SELECTION GUIDELINES

The candidate selected for this position is required to have work authorization in the United States and will undergo eligibility verification at the start of their employment. Furthermore, the candidate will undergo a background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and must certify adherence to the Township's Nepotism Policy.
