This internship has the opportunity to begin as early as the spring, and carry through to the next school term. The schedule for this position is 40-hours per week, Monday-Friday, with some evenings required to support Public Meetings. Rate of Pay is $16-$18 per hour. This position will provide exposure and useful experience to the student's education while preparing the student for future professional employment in the field of Planning and Zoning under our Engineering Division.
Job Responsibilities:
- Exposure to a wide variety of Planning and Zoning projects including land use planning, site planning, zoning code revisions, community vision plan coordination, and review of development plans, text and studies.
- Position also assists Planning and Zoning staff on day-to-day tasks and duties. Tasks included: project research, creating maps and other visual display documents, attending various meetings with Staff, performing site visits and site inspections, data input, permit application review and staff report preparation, and miscellaneous office work.
- Other duties as assigned/required for the betterment of the Engineering Division/Public Service Department.
Job Qualifications:
- Successful candidates must be a high school graduate currently enrolled in a Planning oriented bachelor's/master's program (City and Regional Planning, Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture) from an accredited college / university.
- Some experience with AutoCAD, GIS, and Adobe Creative Suite is also preferred.
- High school diploma
- Valid Ohio Driver's License.
