About the role:

DTJ is seeking an experienced designer to join our team as an Associate-level Senior Project + Entitlements Manager within our Community Design Studio.  This position is available at either our Austin, TX, or Boulder/Denver, CO locations. The selected candidate will work on a diverse range of projects for both private and public clients. These projects may include large-scale master planning, community design, site-specific planning, entitlements, and civic/urban design.

As a leadership role within our studio, this position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while mentoring and helping to develop talented, driven designers.

Our Community Design Studio creates exceptional places that seamlessly blend storytelling with the built environment. Through a collaborative design process, we craft meaningful spaces that are thoughtfully shaped to deliver unforgettable experiences and enhance the quality of life for all who engage with them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field in design.
  • 12+ years of professional experience, with at least 6 years focused on project and entitlement management in community design.
  • Expertise in managing community design projects, including entitlement and approval processes for residential, resort, civic, and mixed-use developments.
  • Strong project management and entitlement coordination skills, with experience navigating approvals and managing stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and client goals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Licensure or certification is optional but encouraged.

Future opportunities may include significant participation in marketing and business development. This position is a potential track to studio, office, and firm leadership for motivated and talented individuals.

The pay range for this role is:

$95,000 - $125,000 USD per year(Austin, TX)
