Responsibilities:Responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's experience level and professional interests, and may include:
- Contributing to and leading multimodal transportation planning projects
- Assisting with or managing the development of Transportation Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Access and Mobility Analyses, and Safety Studies
- Conducting fieldwork, data collection, and spatial analysis to inform project recommendations
- Coordinating with clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to advance project goals
- Representing Symmetra at stakeholder meetings, public forums, and agency briefings, with support or independently depending on experience
- Collaborating closely with team members of all levels to share ideas, solve challenges, and deliver thoughtful, impactful work
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, presentations, and visual materials for a variety of audiences
- Staying informed on emerging trends, technologies, and policy developments in transportation planning

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or a related technical field (relevant experience may substitute for formal education)
- EIT, PE, or AICP certification — or a strong interest in pursuing one
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with GIS, Adobe Illustrator, and other graphic or spatial analysis tools
- Experience working with DC/MD-area agencies is a plus
