The Development Services Department is an active, fast-paced department. The Director is responsible for leading and overseeing a dynamic and collaborative team of 86 professionals in 11 different sections. A key member of the Executive Team and a public-facing representative of the City, the Director must be an experienced and politically astute planning professional, an effective communicator and a successful project manager. The ideal candidate will be of high moral character, a pragmatic yet enthusiastic problem-solver, and an innovative and engaging supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, engineering, landscape architecture, redevelopment, real estate development, development finance, or development project management, including four years of administrative and management responsibilities, and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in planning, architecture, engineering, public administration, business administration, economics, sociology or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.

The annual salary range for the Director of Development Services is $210,171.78 - $255,465.34 based on the experience and qualifications of the applicant, plus a competitive and generous benefit package.
