The Director plays a vital role in the implementation and management of the department with responsibilities including:

• Oversight and management of all development services related tasks, projects, applications, customers, and staff.
• Oversight of all department staff including delegation of assignments, performance management, training, etc;
• Research and implement best practices to achieve the goals identified in the City's adopted development policies;
• Develop SOP's, performance measures, track and provide regular reporting on the Department's progress toward the implementation of adopted goals and policies including the comprehensive plan;
• Serve as staff liaison to assigned boards and commissions including attending public meetings;
• Manage tasks, projects, and contracts with third party firms including plan review and inspections, urban design, staff augmentation, etc;
• Oversee the preparation of the departmental budget and monitor expenditures and funded programs;
• Resolve customer issues; and
• Performs other duties as assigned.
