JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Merriam is seeking a full-time Planner to perform a variety of technical, administrative, and professional tasks, including research and related project work in the Community Development Department.

Responsibilities will include processing applications for rezoning cases and requests for conditional/special uses, as well as Board of Zoning Appeals and sign permits.

Will be responsible for reviewing applications to ensure proper file content and timeliness as required by ordinance and state law provisions.

The Planner will provide information related to the existing zoning of the property, ordinances, subdivision regulations, building permits, flood zones, and other relevant code provisions.

May exercise supervision and/or guidance of seasonal interns.

Will work under the close supervision and direction of the Community Development Director
