JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Temple City is seeking a Planning Technician to perform a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the City's current and advance planning functions. This position will review development and land use applications, zoning, site plans, and related documents for accuracy and compliance; perform routine plan checks; and provide information to the public regarding zoning, development standards, and permit requirements. The Planning Technician will also assist with background research, prepare reports and exhibits, and provide general support to planning staff and management.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or equivalent is required. Enrollment in or completion of advanced coursework in urban planning, geography, architecture, or a related field is required. At least one year of experience providing technical or administrative support in planning, permitting, engineering, or customer service (paid or unpaid) is desirable.

Other Qualifications:

Possession of a valid Class C motor vehicle operator's license issued by the State of California.
