Agritourism | Food Systems
The county’s land development ordinances address agritourism. The code defines “agricultural tourism facility” (§2-1.7.B) and allows minor agricultural tourism by right subject to standards and major agricultural tourism with a special use permit in the agricultural district (§4-3.1). Use standards for agricultural tourism address maximum area, use separations, operational regulations, landscaping, parking, and signs (§6-4.9).
Solar Energy
The county's development ordinance permits rooftop and freestanding accessory solar energy systems by right in all zoning districts and principal use solar energy systems as special uses in one rural and several industrial districts (Table 4-3-1).
All accessory solar energy systems are subject to specific standards addressing height and maximum area (for freestanding systems) (§6-4.83).
All principal use solar energy systems are subject to specific standards addressing height, screening, parking, and separation from residential structures (§6-4.84).
