Solar Energy

The township's zoning code includes a section on renewable energy systems that permits accessory rooftop solar energy systems by right in all zoning districts, subject to standards addressing placement, glare, and interconnection (§240-1943.C).

Primary-use solar energy systems are permitted as a conditional use in light industrial districts (§240-1943.C.2). Accessory ground-mounted systems are permitted by right or as conditional uses in all districts, subject to standards addressing placement, lot coverage, and height (§240-1943.C.13). Solar energy systems within 100 feet of any historic resource are treated as conditional uses (§240-1943.C.9). Standards authorize the use of solar easements (§240-1943.C.10).
