Solar Energy

In the city's Citywide Policy Plan, the Housing and Neighborhoods chapter includes a policy related to expanding sustainable practices, including solar power, in public housing (Policy I.D.5).

The Transportation chapter discusses the opportunity the city's port has to capitalize on the alternative energy industry, including solar (Opportunity #6).

The Natural Resources chapter includes a policy to foster greater use and develpment of alternative energy systems and practices, including solar, through encouraging its integration into development and redeveloment projects as well as on vacant properties (Policy III.B).
