The city's climate action plan includes a climate action measure to pursue renewable energy installations on city property (C-3). The implementation actions under this measure suggest continuing to install solar systems on city facilities when feasible (C-3.1) and replacing conventional hot water heaters with solar heaters (C-3.2).

Appendix B quantifies the GHG reduction potential of renewable energy systems on city property, as well as the city's Small Solar Photovoltaic Incentive Program.
