Solar Energy

In the county's Subdivision Regulations, the Design Requirements section allows modifications in lot depth requirements for several reasons, including sun and wind orientation to better take advantage of passive and active solar heating opportunities (§26-72.3.d). In addition, a section on Energy Conservation calls for design to provide for future passive or natural heating and cooling opportunities, including lot size and configuration to allow east-west orientation of structures for southern exposures and solar easements (§26-72.8.a).
