Solar Energy

The Town Plan's Natural and Scenic Resources element includes a smart infrastructure goal, with a recommendation of using solar power for streetlights and other town facilities with good solar access (NSR-9). The plan's Energy element notes that 10% of the town's electricity use is generated locally through renewable sources including solar (p. 71). It includes a goal of promoting the development of local renewable energy sources, with recommendations including identifying town properties to site solar gardens (E-26) and encouraging residents and businesses to pursue local energy generation through solar and other sources (E-27, E-30).
