Solar Energy

The borough's zoning ordinance defines several solar energy system- and solar easement-related terms (Sec. 27-203). It permits solar energy systems as accessory uses in all districts subject to constraints limiting system height, ground coverage, and location to side or rear yard; aesthetic and architecturally compatible installation is required (Sec. 27-401.4). The code provides for relief for solar energy systems from certain setback and lot coverage requirements if criteria are met (Sec. 27-401.1).
