Solar Energy

The town's comprehensive plan contains a series of recommendations under Goal EC-5 that encourage renewable energy (including solar) use:

• Adopt renewable energy goals to guide decision making (EC-5-A).
• Revise regulations, streamline permit processes, and reduce fees to make renewable energy use easier (EC-5-B).
• Work with partners to create financial incentives and to explore options for community-owned renewable energy systems (EC-5-C).
• Partner with local organizations and businesses to provide education about renewable energy opportunities (EC-5-D).
• Generate renewable electricity on town property (EC-5-E).
• Consider purchasing RECs to offset town's GHG emissions (EC-5-F).
