Accessory Dwelling Units
This report summarizes the research to date about the potential economic, social, and environmental benefits of accessory dwelling units (ADUs), analyzes the regulatory barriers to ADUs, and identifies questions for future research. It includes in-depth discussions of regulations in New York, Washington, D.C., Austin, Texas, Denver, and Seattle.
Affordable Housing Programs
This report presents regulatory and other challenges for developing ADUs and micro-units and considers how these programs can be evaluated to determine whether they are meeting affordable housing goals. It shares results from a series of roundtable discussions held in Austin, Denver, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C, and provides a series of recommendations.
