The county’s zoning code designates an overlay district that encourages pedestrian use through a combination of active transportation facilities, use regulations, and development standards (§2201B). In addition to regulations that encourage additional density and require pedestrian-friendly street frontage, the county also aims to promote open space and greenway facilities in order to induce active transportation.
