Grayfields Reuse and Redevelopment

The city code requires that plans for retail buildings over 70,000 square feet demonstrate multi-tenant reuse potential. This includes the ability to divide the exterior into multiple entrances, share parking amongst tenants, and compartmentalized construction of plumbing, ventilation, electric, etc. It also prohibits the building owner from preventing the facility from being reused in the open market, and must attempt to lease the building to a new user (§30-904).
