Transit-Oriented Development

The city’s zoning code includes a mapped transit-oriented development district (TOD) for two heavy rail station areas (§98-1536 et seq.). The goals of the TOD district are to implement complete streets, promote vertical and horizontal mixed-use development, encourage a variety of housing types and sizes, and to reduce parking requirements. It includes subdistricts for two specific station areas. The vision for both subdistricts is a predominantly residential mixed-use neighborhood through infill and redevelopment of predominantly industrial uses.
