Age-Friendly Communities

The city’s zoning code designates residential housing for older persons (R-HOP) districts. These districts are broadly intended to have pedestrian access to commercial and cultural amenities, include open space and community parks, and other performance standards (§9.18). The R-HOP sub-districts range from age-restricted single family homes to continuous care facilities, and include additional performance standards commensurate with the use.
