Community Visioning

The city's comprehensive planning process was driven by the development of a community vision assisted by over 900 residents who participated in the process. Section II of the city's comprehensive plan, Vision/Guiding Principles, provides the resulting vision statement, which focuses on nine guiding principles organized into three categories: livable, sustainable, and connected. As part of the process, the city's planning department published a "Community Vision Statements" handout in 2013 describing the importance of visioning.
