Tree Preservation and the Urban Forest 

This article discusses and quantifies air quality benefits of urban trees in several U.S. urban areas (especially Sacramento County, CA). It provides numbers for pollutant and CO2 uptake, as well as valuations for each. It also includes information about shaded parking lots and the Clean Air Act.
