Tree Preservation and the Urban Forest 

The city’s urban forest plan includes multiple case examples of successful urban forest programs and funding mechanisms to support each of Pittsburgh’s goals. The city ultimately wants to achieve 60 percent canopy cover (up from 41.7 percent) in 20 years. It also includes sections on storm preparation, invasive species and disease, interagency cooperation, a “report card” for evaluation, and more.
