Tree Preservation and the Urban Forest 

The city and county’s community tree management code establishes tree preservation, planting, and maintenance requirements for all public and private property (§8-7). It addresses definitions; the roles and responsibilities of the community forester, arborist, and community tree council; landmark trees; designated tree preservation areas; trees on public property; tree canopy cover; protected trees; tree management plans; forest management activities; technical standards; variances; inspections; enforcement; and violations and penalties.
