Improving Development Review

This analysis of the City of Las Vegas' development review process by Kirchhoff & Associates looks at ways to improve it, especially as compared to other regional jurisdictions. The report finds that most “problems” happen when multiple city departments are engaged in the review process, slowing the process considerably. The three main recommendations for change were to reduce the silo isolation among departments, modify the organizational culture, and improve the process flow. The report offers 95 recommendations for Las Vegas to undertake as it seeks to make the review process more efficient.
