Improving Development Review

This report on the city's development review and permitting process is a collaboration between the public affairs school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the city. The report looks at three main concerns determined by previous study—a slow review process, conflicting ordinances leading to interagency conflicts, and uncoordinated and costly public involvement—and offers case studies from other U.S. communities offering potential solutions to these challenges.
