Measuring Planning Department Performance

The county’s annual performance report evaluates the performance of all city functional areas, departments, and divisions, including the Planning division of the Planning, Building, and Environmental Services department.  The report lists division functions and responsibilities as well as performance measures, organized as “what/how much we do,” “how well we do it,” and “is anyone better off.”  However, a 2016 Grand Jury Report questioned the overall value compared with the significant costs of the county’s performance measurement system.
