Small Wireless Facilities and Wireless Facilities in the ROW

The streets, sidewalks, and public places chapter of the city's code of ordinances defines "small cell technology," equating it with DAS (§50-5), and provides standards governing the placement of small cell technology in the public right-of-way (§50-6), including criteria for approving variances for small cell technology wireless support structures.

Transit-Oriented Development

The city’s development code (Ordinance No. 2017-08-17) includes a mapped, form-based transit-oriented development (TOD) district for heavy rail station areas. The vision for the Transit Mixed Use District is a pedestrian-friendly mix of commercial, residential, and civic uses in multistory buildings (§4.1.5). District standards address lot parameters, building placement, height and mass, and activation (§4.6).
