Environmentally Sensitive Area

This article provides a framework to assess how critical habitats on private land are affected by local level planning alternatives. The modeling approach considers stakeholder involvement, spatial description of biological diversity and development patterns, alternative scenario analysis, and evaluation and monitoring. A case study in Summit County, Colorado, demonstrates how this model can be used in the planning process.
