Environmentally Sensitive Areas

The city’s comprehensive plan incorporates Growth Management Act requirements to protect natural resource, critical areas, habitat conservation areas, and shorelines. The critical area section outlines a need for best available science to protect wetlands, flood areas, aquifer recharge areas, geologically sensitive areas, habitat conservation areas, and wildlife habitats. Additionally, it refers to the use of minimum performance standards related to alterations of conservation areas and outlines risks to natural areas.
