The city’s comprehensive plan contains state and local goals to protect natural resources. The Natural and Water Resources appendix provides an inventory of current conditions on wildlife and critical resource elements, as well as policies and practices to protect natural resources and critical resource elements. Future strategies for natural resource protection includes land use tools for protection of impaired streams, and preservation of shoreline and water resources. This comprehensive plan incorporates requirements established by Maine Statutes.
