Environmentally Sensitive Areas

The city’s comprehensive plan provides information to guide land use, natural resource protection and water management practices within the Mississippi River Corridor. The land use element includes a description of special natural resource areas, an inventory of existing land uses and natural resources, and goals and objectives for natural resource areas. Appendix B consists of the Mississippi River Critical Corridor Area Plan, which contains recommendations to incorporate the corridor plan as a part of the comprehensive plan, update the Critical Area Ordinance, and collaborate with multiple agencies to protect natural and historic resources.
