Environmentally Sensitive Areas

The county’s zoning code includes multiple districts to protect and restore environmentally sensitive areas. It covers stream protection overlay zone, environmental protection zone, floodplain zone, and geologic hazard zone (§42 et seq.). The overlay district section contains detailed information on implementation of higher standards, including prohibited uses, exemptions, and violations. Other sections include information on allowed activities and standards for the area type.
